Bishop David A. Konderla's statement on Traditionis Custodes and the celebration of the Extraordinary Form of the Mass

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ, 

Pope Francis today issued a Motu Proprio titled Traditionis Custodes that provides new information and regulation for the Church regarding the celebration of the Eucharist.  It takes effect immediately.  In order to properly understand and implement any changes it might require for our local diocese, I am immediately taking it to prayerful study and consultation with experts and locally involved parties.  As soon as we have a correct understanding, I will provide more information regarding its implementation in Tulsa and Eastern Oklahoma.  For the moment let us pray for our Holy Father thanking him for his ongoing efforts to foster unity in the Church and let us entrust this new Motu Proprio to the intercession of our Blessed Mother under the title “Mother of the Church” which was given to her at the end of the Second Vatican Council.
