St. Joseph School Endowment Trust will celebrate the 4th annual “Continue the Legacy” Gala on Friday, November 2, starting at 6pm with a Mass of Thanksgiving in the parish Church and followed by a reception and dinner in the parish hall. On the occasion of the twentieth anniversary of the building of St. Joseph Church in 1992, invited guest Fr. Alex Kennedy, who served as Associate Pastor of St. Joseph Church from 1990-1995, will preside at the Mass and reflect on how the building of the new Church pulled together Muskogee’s Catholic s and consolidated support for Catholic education. Parishioners will also offer reflections from each of Muskogee’s previous parishes: Church of the Assumption, Sacred Heart and Saint Augustine. Catholic parishioners will be honored for steadfastly supporting Catholic education in Muskogee since 1891. Parish support is crucial to our school and provides nearly 20% of its annual budget—and thereby helps keep Catholic education within reach of working families.
St. Joseph School is a fully state accredited school with students from Pre-K-8th grade which welcomes students of all faiths. Its mission is to “provide academic excellence in a safe Catholic Christian environment and to follow in Jesus’ footsteps to create a better world.” In 2012, we have 103 students who benefit from small class sizes, superior educators and committed parent involvement. Middle school students access innovative Rosetta Stone language software in addition to music, art and extra-curricular sports in the DMSAA.
St. Joseph School Endowment Trust was established in the 1970s to provide a stable source of additional funding for St. Joseph School. It has done so and will continue to do so into the future. The families, students and staff of St. Joseph School are most grateful to all who have contributed to the Endowment Trust through the years, as well as those who have included the Endowment Trust in their will and financial planning.
Tickets for this year’s Gala are $50 each and available through St. Joseph School Office, 918-683-1291.
