On January 5, 2014, the Solemnity of the Epiphany of the Lord, Holy Family Cathedral will offer special Receptions following the 10:00 and 12:00 Sunday Masses. The occasion is the 20th Anniversary of the Episcopal Ordination of The Most Reverend Edward J. Slattery, Bishop of Tulsa.
In 1994, Blessed Pope John Paul II ordained Father Edward Slattery to the Episcopate. Bishop Slattery was one of many bishops ordained in Saint Peter’s Basilica that day. Bishop Slattery flew to Tulsa and was installed as our third bishop.
Bishop Slattery, the longest reigning bishop of Tulsa, has been our bishop for 20% of this church building’s history.
Please thank Bishop Slattery for his service after the 10:00 and 12:00 Masses on Sunday, January 5, 2014.
