teenFEMM and teenMEN.
The Diocese offers two single day retreats wherein parents are invited to come with the child (middle school is the average age), in mother/daughter and father/son style. These retreats use the curriculum from FemmHealth. These curriculums, along with added spiritual and emotional (focused on relationship with God, self and others), help the young teen or preteen learn about the nature of their body, health and growth in this critical time in their development. The curriculum seeks to educate with scientific evidence, and allow the parent to hear the information along with their child in a neutral environment. These topics set up the conversations to be between parent and child (further developing that bond), and set the stage for Catholic moral teaching around sexual ethics and Natural Family Planning. No family planning is taught in the teen curriculums. For more information, please contact [email protected]
