Catholic Charities of Eastern Oklahoma is preparing to potentially host refugee families from Afghanistan in Tulsa. Catholic Charities is prepared to provide a place to live for 50 to 100 Afghan families.
Executive Director of Catholic Charities, Deacon Kevin Sartorius, says that Catholic Charities will provide each family with a furnished apartment and food to eat. They will also provide assistance with enrolling children in schools and help families find employment.
Tens of thousands of people are desperately trying to flee Afghanistan as the Taliban gains more control over the country. Many are fearful for their lives and are looking and hoping for a safe place to go. Catholic Charities is one of the many organizations across the world offering help to those most in need as they flee Afghanistan.
