Fr. Calderoni's chalice is made of silver with a very simple design, but it has a very symbolic connection for him. It belonged to a priest from Faenza, Italy, Don Vittorio Santandrea. Faenza is Fr. Calderoni's father's hometown in Italy, where he was born and where many Calderoni relatives still reside. .
During Fr. Calderoni's first summer abroad studying in Rome, he worked with Don Vittorio.. He was a joyful and dedicated priest who supported Fr. Calderoni in his vocation. He taught him that a parish is first and foremost a family of families united by faith.
In January 2021, at the age of 79, Don Vittorio died unexpectedly due to COVID-19. At the time of his death, he was still active as a parish administrator of Pieve Cesato. The chalice was gifted to Fr. Calderoni from Don VIttorio's parish.
