New Priest Assignments Announced

I, the Most Rev. David A. Konderla, Bishop of Tulsa and Eastern Oklahoma, announce today the following priests’ assignments. Please pray for these priests as they begin this important transition in their ministry in a spirit of faithful obedience and with gratitude to the faithful for their continued support.

Other Assignments and Retirements

Fr. Gary Kastl, Rector of Holy Family Cathedral in Tulsa has been appointed as the Vicar General, effective May 18, 2022.

Fr. Elkin González will continue to serve as Pastor of the Parish of Christ the King in Tulsa after May 18, 2022.

Fr. Leonard Ahanotu, Pastor at Holy Cross in Wagoner and St. Vincent de Paul in Coweta has been appointed the Vicar Forane for the Eastern Vicariate, effective July 1, 2022.

Msgr. Patrick Brankin (A priest of the Archdiocese of Chicago) has retired from ministry, effective April 1, 2022. He will continue to support Bishop Emeritus Slattery.

Fr. Richard Bradley, Pastor at St. Pius X in Tulsa will be retiring, effective July 1, 2022.

Msgr. Patrick Gaalaas, Pastor at St. Bernard of Clairvaux, will be retiring and will reside at Holy Family Cathedral, effective July 1, 2022.

Fr. Chi Peter Phung, Pastor at St. Michael in Henryetta and St. Teresa in Okemah will be retiring, effective July 1, 2022.

The Parish of St. Stephen in Holdenville will be moving from the Southern Vicariate to the Eastern Vicarate, effective July 1, 2022.
