October 22, 2014 - Bishop Slattery has announced the appointment of Father John Grant as Associate Pastor of Holy Family Cathedral, effective May 12, 2015, serving under the newly appointed Rector, Father Jovita Okonkwo. Father Grant is also appointed Assistant Director of the Diocesan Office of Liturgy and Assistant Master of Ceremonies assisting Msgr. Patrick Brankin, Director of Liturgy.
October 16, 2014 - There has been a lot of confusion regarding the Church’s pastoral position and doctrinal assessment of divorced and remarried Catholics, cohabiting couples, and persons who experience same-sex attractions. Much of the confusion follows the October 13 publication of the Relatio post Disceptationem, of the Extraordinary General Assembly of the Synod of Bishops on the Family (October 5-19, Rome).
October 13, 2014 - Bishop Slattery has released a letter he received on September 19 from Father Larry Dunham, OFM, Commissary of the Holy Land, expressing gratitude for the amount of $29,391.76 given by the people of the Diocese of Tulsa in this year's Good Friday Collection for the Holy Land.
October 8, 2014 - I am happy to announce the success of our recent diocesan campaign, Rooted in Faith, forward in Hope. Our goal was set at $12 million and as of today, that goal has been reached and surpassed. We have $15,255,787 as of October 1, 2014. Besides the campaign having succeeded by reaching and surpassing its goal, it has also given evidence of the many parishioners’ love of the Church. ...
October 6, 2014 - The Most Rev. Edward J. Slattery, Bishop of Tulsa, wishes to share a statement issued earlier this afternoon by the Chairman of the US Conference of Catholic Bishops Committee On Laity, Marriage, Family Life and Youth, Bishop Richard J. Malone, Buffalo, New York, and the Chairman of the USCCB's Subcommittee for the Promotion and Defense of Marriage, Archbishop Salvatore J. Cordileone, of San Francisco expressing their grave concern and serious disappointment regarding today's decision by the US Supreme Court not to consider current cases that strike down laws upholding marriage as between one man and one woman.

October 6, 2014 - The icon of “Our Lady of Czestochowa” (“the Black Madonna”) is reputed to have been “written” on Mary’s table top from her house in Nazareth by Luke the Evangelist. She has been credited with numerous miracles and healings – both of a spiritual and physical nature. A beautiful copy of this icon has been blessed and consecrated at the monastery of Jasna Gora in Poland, where the original is kept, and entrusted to the defense of life and family. Now, after traveling 40,000 miles from Vladivostok in Russia through 24 countries in Europe, she will be visiting Tulsa on her global pilgrimage.
October 1, 2013 - The diocesan capital campaign, Rooted in Faith, Forward in Hope has raised over $15 million, far surpassing the original goal of $12 million. Over 2,700 Catholic families in the Diocese of Tulsa have participated in the campaign, pledging an average gift of over $4,800. The hard work and committed vision of pastors, deacons, and lay leaders throughout Eastern Oklahoma have made this drive a remarkable success.
