Thank you to everyone who helped promote the diocesan youth survey! With your support, we gathered responses from 162 high school-aged youth across the Diocese of Tulsa and Eastern Oklahoma. While this does not represent every Catholic youth in eastern Oklahoma, it provides a meaningful starting point to better understand their lives and needs.
Reports are now available for the Tulsa North, Tulsa South, and Western Vicariates, as these areas had enough responses to generate comprehensive reports. Parishes will receive their specific reports within the next month.
As the Diocese transitions to the Restored Order of the Sacraments of Initiation, many parishes will need to rethink how they engage youth outside of sacramental preparation. This survey was designed to assist parish leaders by providing insight into the faith, community involvement, academics, social media habits, and mental well-being of young Catholics.
We hope this resource will help parishes strengthen their youth ministry efforts, empowering young people as disciples of Christ and active members of their faith communities.
